Demonstrate for your child how to pack a suitcase. Show them how to fold clothes, put liquids in a bag, or tuck socks inside of tennis shoes!

HOW TO PLAY

Together with your child, write a packing list for the trip. You can do this by item (e.g., five shirts, five pairs of shorts) or by day (e.g., Monday: outfit for being outside, bathing suit, tennis shoes).

Let your child use the packing list to pack their own suitcase.

Before the trip, do a final review with your child to make sure they got all the items on the list.

Give your child lots of verbal praise for their efforts and let them know how much their independence on this task helps.
